Artist Nicole Emanuel, commissioned by the Arts Council of Metropolitan Kansas City to paint seven paintings, is painting them live in the hallways of Briarwood Elementary in support of her Artsmart Program. The theme of the ArtsKC Awards Luncheon based on the paintings is one of balance and the creativity required to juggle a 21st Century life. Artsmart brings community artists into public schools to teach creativity, multiculturalism and environmental awareness.
