State-of-the-art theatre brings 3D teaching and learning to students

KANSAS CITY, MO. - Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) students will be transported into a three-dimensional world of teaching and learning at Panterra Theatre, the newly-renovated video facility located at Southwest Early College Campus (SWECC).

Using the world's second "SciDome XD," an ultra-high resolution digital display system, students will be immersed in three-dimensional, digital surround-sound worlds: diving into the depths of the ocean, plunging into an active volcano, soaring through outer space, or following the Great Migration across the Serengeti.

The theatre will open during a special open house/demo session from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at SWECC, 6521 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Mo. Visitors will be treated to a 25-minute demonstration of the theatre, free refreshments, and pre-show entertainment. The event is free and open to the general public.

NOTE: A special Media Debut will be at 3:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at SWECC, 6521 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Mo.
