Scenic Road Productions seeks a creative video editor for fulltime employment. Successful candidate is a storyteller and artist who is self-motivated and detail oriented. Candidate will also have excellent file management skills.
Responsibilities:
Editing: Weaving video, music and location audio into artful and compelling storylines.
Color: Color work as it relates to primary and secondary color correction, as well as color grading.
Sound for picture: Basic audio cleanup and the mixing of multiple audio tracks against music.
Candidate must be proficient with the following software:
Final Cut Studio or Adobe Creative Suite.
Scenic Road will give extra consideration to candidates with the following:
Experience in After Effects and/or FCP Motion, Adobe Photoshop, and Pro Tools or Studio Logic.
Experience as a DSLR videographer capable of lighting on-location, sit-down interviews.
Salary is TBD, based on experience.

Only one week left to submit your work as CinemaKC presents the 1st MAPA Animation Celebration Sept. 8 at the Boulevard Drive-in, 1051 Merriam Lane Kansas City, KS 6610. Sell your artwork, or see your film screened on the largest drive-in screen in the state of Kansas.
But it's not too late for your film to screen alongside
these amazing pieces. Here's how you can
get involved. All submissions should be on DVD or a .mov file in H.264.
They must all include a complete credit list. There is no cost for submission.
Deadline to submit is August 21, 2012.

Animation Celebration Update!!!
More submissions roll in for our Animation Celebration at the Boulevard Drive-in Sept 8!
Our latest additions include 'How to Put a Square Peg Into a Round Hole' from long-time MAPA member and local illustrator/animator Mary C. Taylor. Also 'MOPEYS' by Vancouver Film School student Miang Tassniyom and 'Choreography' by David Fain who has also worked as a Staff Writer on 'SpongeBob Squarepants' and an Animation Supervisor for Warner Bros. And that's just scratching the surface.
But it's not too late for your film to screen alongside these amazing pieces. Here's how you can get involved:

Michelle Davidson to Host Animation Celebration
MAPA is very excited to announce that CinemaKC Host and current KC Live Personality Michelle Davidson will host our Animation Celebration Sept 8. at the Boulevard Drive-in. Davidson was an anchor/reporter at KOMU in Columbia for nearly two years
after graduation from the University of Missouri. She also was at KY3
in Springfield, MO, as a weekend anchor and consumer reporter from
2001-2006.
And remember, there's still time to submit your film or artwork to the show! Just reply to Dylan Dietz, ddietz31@comcast.net or call (816) 267-0719 for details. Submissions due by Aug. 21. Film submissions must be on DVD or in Quicktime .mov format in the H.264 codec.
